After graduating from the North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 1995, Mr. Brown joined the State Attorney’s Office in Polk County. During his tenure as a prosecutor in the felony division, Mr. Brown handled thousands of cases including drug trafficking, possession of controlled substances, violent felonies and crimes involving theft. He was promoted to the sex crimes/child abuse unit where he handled sexual battery, lewd acts and molestation charges.

In 2000, Mr. Brown joined the State Attorney's Office in Orange County as a felony prosecutor handling drug, theft and violent offenders. He was quickly promoted to the special prosecution division to handle sex crimes and child abuse cases. He resigned to join the firm of Jaeger & Blankner in 2003. His entire practice is devoted to criminal defense, including motion and appellate practice.
